Then I fed the horses and did the usual going off and on with Kels. But let me tell you about yesterday (cause Kels is feeding today) Marybeth, one of the borders sold her horse tucker so when i came yesterday there was a new horse. A paint named Feather. it is so pretty! I rode done in the back of the truck with Danny's and Dante's food and water buckets. (it was just down the driveway) anyway the horses came right up and ate while a groomed them. I tell you the flies were awefull! There were like 50 billion on each horse! Ok so im exzagerating but not by that much! I will post pics as soon as i can. Well ttfn ta ta for now!

sorry i'm late
9/12/o8
Hey today Kelsey and I went to the barn. Aunt Terry was there and had already gotten the buckets of food ready. kelsey and i called for our horses and then went and got the grooming supplies. When we came back out we could see every horse but our own so we walked down the corner of the driveway where the lower gate is (we usually feed them there) and there they were. Danny on his side of the gate Dante on the other. They were waiting for us! Kelsey and I laughed, fed, picked, and groomed them. (when i refer to the usual I mean we have picked their hooves, brushed them down, talked to them, put on fly spray etc. you get the usual!)

the sunny ride
Hi this is Kelsey's next post:
Today was my 2nd lesson with Mrs Cloutier. In the beginning Dante was was a little hyper on the ground. I need to learn to be patient with him and take my time! But Mrs. Cloutier helped me out there:) Well now time to ride, I had to walk him around the ring 6 times. One of the times I went around, he heard a scary noise and flipped out then stepped on my foot! I couldn't speak because of how bad it hurt...so then we worked more until he listen to me. So then it was time to get on. I got on him and walked him around and got used to him. Then we did some time trotting it was fun he was great he listen so well...I was so proud of him...Mrs. Cloutier was surprised how well he listened... so then we did some barrels.... trotting around them and walking of course... but I was so happy how well he did:) i am so happy God has given me a horse like Dante!

Hi, hi! This is Kayla with the next update...
Today I rode. I sat down at the picnic table and got started with my paper journal while Kelsey got started with her lesson. 15 minutes in, I got up and got Danny Boy. He didn't come to me so I did the Parrelli method to make him come to me. After 10 times he came and I gave him a bite of apple. Then I led him to the barn and got him tacked up. When I went to get the saddle pad I heard a commotion and I stepped out. Danny had pulled the trash can down! I laughed because he was scared. Then went and comforted him. When I went back to the tack room when I came out Danny had flipped the lid of another trash can.
After tacking him up I stuck the bit in his mouth. I have to do it at an angle because he is missing some teeth and if I don't do it right it gets caught on his gums. YUCK! Anyway...I put him in the ring and walked him 6 times around than got on him and walked. Mrs. Cloutier noticed that Danny was in a good mood today so she insisted I trot him or since he is a Tennessee Walker run-walk him. But it is much easier to say trot. I was nervous, the last time I trotted him he took of. After a good push in the right direction and some persuading, Mrs. Cloutier said that she would only take me one length...I went around the ring twice...and I loved every minute of it!
After that I did a few figure eights around the barrels and then got off. It was a great day thank you Lord for giving me a horse. Please help me to bless and cherish him the way you bless and cherish me! Thank you for keeping me safe. Thank you for letting me trust in you and please help me to step out side of my comfort zone!

Intro Kelsey
Hello my name is kelsey.
I have been riding horses for 4 years. I have an appendix quarter horse named Dante. I have had Dante for 2 years. He is 8 years old, 16 hands and is a chesnut color.
Now to tell about myself; I ride at Oatlandstables, I'm an English rider, I do horse shows, I do jumping with my horse and with other horses.
Why I am doing this blog is because I'm learning horse science and how to keep up a web journal. I wanted to tell you how I got into horses. When I was 7 years old I started to ride my aunt's horses in Tennessee. I started riding lesson when I was 12 and at 13, I began horse showing. I also do 4-H, horses, choir, I am on my church's worship team and I hang with family and friends all the time. I am excited to start this blog. Keep up with us!

Welcome to our blog!
Hello! This blog is an account of our horse journeys. We, Kayla and Kelsey, are excited to keep this up for fun and for school. Let us introduce ourselves...
My name is Kayla and I am 13 years old. I have a Tennessee Walking horse named Danny Boy. He is 16.3 hand high with a dark chesnut color and is 13. I love horses and so does my mom. Its been her dream to have a horse ever since she was little and now she gets to live her dream through me! My mom and I are best friends so we enjoy doing horsemanship together. Right now I have been taking lessons with one of my friends Mrs. Jennifer. I have been riding for 3 and and a half years now. I'm not just wrapped around horses though. I am involved in my church drama group, a 4H Club and choir. I am family oriented and love to hang out with my parents and 5 siblings. My favorite subject in school this year is going to be science. My mom is writing a horse science curriculum and Kelsey and I are doing it together. One of our science projects is blogging. We are going to journal all our adventures everyday. Or atleast update every Wednesday. I'm looking forward to this school year and I hope you do too!
